::)i want to correct an error I made in a posting re. information on Jennie Blue Cloud. If as sioux chic wrote in her next to last response re. Johanna BlueCloud's husband Whitestone had been married to Ninahnihdewin, and had that daughter Mahpiyapiiciyewin, then this daughter was Julia Mahpiyapiiciyewin, wife of Samuel Thomas(s/or Lucy Tiyopa and Nomahdi)aka Julia Whitestone(english Name). Julia would then be a half sibling to Martha Saul, and Jennie Blue Cloud and possibly Lydia St. Pierre, if Lydia's mother was also Johanna. I am at aloss to understand why the postings re. Jennie Blue Cloud were deleted. Go figure.

hermin johanna bluecloud or hanna hapan was married to whitestone and had the following children:moses, lydia, and jennie(jane). whitestone was married previously to ninahinhdewin and that is where julia whitestone comes from. i just got jennie's probate and here are her heirs were solon taopi-nephew, henry w. st. clair-grandnephew, samuel thomas-brother in law, david thomas-nephew, moses bluecloud-brother, and lydia st.pierre-sister. this probate is dated march 30th, 1916 and jennie died in 1895. so apparently john taopi and job st. clair were my great great grandmother lydia's half brothers. alot of the people that gave testimony are on the 1886-89 census. do you know the death date of julia thomas?

julia Thomas aka Mahpiyapiiciyewin died Aug. 1913. Her husband, Samuel Thomas died may 5, 1920. Both died in Minnesota, I believe. They had two sons who survived their parents: David H. and George. Five other children died young ,and without issue more 30 or 40 yrs. prior to Samuel Thomas death.

siouxchic. I just figured that since whitestone was Julia's father, that her English surname would also be a Whitestone. I hope I didn't goof again. I am puzzled by Jennie Blue Cloud's Indian name., and if it wasn't misspelled. blue Cloud(for a woman) would ,I think, be Mahpiyatowin(Cloud is Mahpiya, Blue is to, and woman is win).

jennie took noah bluecloud's surname when johanna married him. tukanwasicun (whitestone) was just the only name that he went by. jennie's indian name was wakiranajinwin. maybe julia went by whitestone before she married, i couldn't really tell you. her mother's name was ninahnihdewin, do you know what that means? i'm really bad at trying to interpret these names. maybe wazi can help.

siouxchic: I want to make sure I have this right: Johanna married whitestone and had Jennie and Lydia by him. Then she married Noah Blue cloud, and Jennie took his surname. Dawn and I didn't know what english suname Julia went by before she married Samuel Thomas, nor did we know who her parents were until you posted the information on Jennie. Do you know if and who Lydia married to become a St. Pierre or was that her English name?

Louis wrote his will in 1917 and left land to Louisa Weston, Sarah Wanjina, Elizabeth Oniha, Nancey St. Pierre, Samuel StPierre and wife Lydia. Other then Lydia all appear to be chldren of his and Lydia.

where did you find the info on louis' will? elizabeth oniha (st. pierre) was my great great grandmother. she and henry weston were the parents of hazen weston. henry and elizabeth were never married. henry was married to louisa, her sister though.
